I attended a town meeting last night in Wellsville and got to watch the interactions of residents concerned about the future of their town, rolling their sleeves up to make it a better place to live and visit.

I saw an article about the meeting in the paper and thought it would be a good way to learn about the area. I didn’t go to campaign, just to listen. And what I heard were caring people with a “we can do” attitude solving their own problems and building their own future. It was America the way it should be .

Judging by what I saw and heard, this community is on the right track. They are not waiting for change to happen–they’re initiating it. That’s good old American ingenuity and toughness.

I believe anyone  seeking public office today should make shoring up family values a major priority. Families are the roots of any community. Strong values make strong communities and strong communities are what keep America on track.
